Biography

Axel Korner completed his undergraduate studies in Berlin and obtained a Maîtrise d'Histoire from Université Lumière (Lyon II), France in 1991, followed by a PhD from the European University Institute in Florence in 1995. He began teaching at University College London (UCL) in 1996 and has held various visiting positions at esteemed institutions, including the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, École Normale Supérieure in Paris, and the Remarque Institute of New York University. In 2012, he became the director of UCL's Centre for Transnational History and launched the university's cross-disciplinary Master's program in Transnational Studies.
