Dr. Axel Paulus

Biography

Axel Paulus is a senior scientist at ETH Zurich, where he directs research in architecture and building processes. With degrees from ETH Zurich and the University of Applied Sciences in Kaiserslautern, he combines integration research with teaching, focusing on creating holistic feedback cycles to provide new insights in architecture and construction. His primary research interests include organizational forms, socio-economic perspectives, and service models related to consultant fees in the real estate sector. Additionally, he incorporates leadership theory and futurology into his academic worldview. Axel teaches architecture and civil engineering courses, leading continuing education programs in leadership, entrepreneurship, digitalization, and strategy planning. He supervises PhD candidates and is actively involved in projects with various universities including the University of Stuttgart and Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid. Furthermore, he served as president of the Society Management Building Economy and is a member of several think tanks focused on regulatory commissions.
