Biography

Ayelet Meron Ruscio is a Professor and Director of Clinical Training in the Department of Psychology. Her research is primarily concerned with the nature, classification, and comorbidity of mental disorders, with a particular focus on anxiety and mood disorders. Her lab explores interrelated questions, including how to distinguish between normal and pathological experiences of anxiety and depression, the co-occurrence of anxiety and depression in individuals, and predicting the development of emotional disturbances throughout the lifespan. Her work employs a variety of methodological approaches, including laboratory experiments, statistical modeling, psychometric research, and longitudinal studies in community settings, all aimed at improving understanding, detection, assessment, and diagnosis of emotional disorders. Ayelet is actively involved in the academic community and is looking for new graduate students for admission in Fall 2026.
