Biography

Dr. Ayham Al Afif is an Assistant Professor at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He specializes in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. His clinical interests include the treatment of mucosal cutaneous head and neck tumors, skull base tumors, and advanced thyroid cancer. Dr. Al Afif's research focuses on oncologic outcomes related to head and neck mucosal cancers, as well as virtual surgical planning and dental rehabilitation in complex oromandibular reconstruction. He completed his BSc and MSc in Microbiology and Immunology at Dalhousie University, followed by his MD and residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, also at Dalhousie University. Additionally, he undertook a fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction at the University of Alabama Birmingham. Dr. Al Afif has published numerous articles in reputable medical journals, contributing valuable insights to his field.
