Biography

Ayman Habib is the Interim Head of the Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering at Purdue University, where he also serves as the Thomas Page Professor in Civil Engineering and Co-Director of the Civil Engineering Center Applications UAS Sustainable Environment (CE-CAUSE). In addition, he is the Associate Director of the Joint Transportation Research Program. He has a distinguished academic background, earning his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Cairo University and multiple advanced degrees in Geodetic Science, including an M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Ohio State University. His research focuses on Geomatics Engineering, encompassing mobile mapping systems and their applications in smart agriculture, geometric documentation, transportation corridors, environmental monitoring, and crash scene reconstruction. Habib has received numerous awards, including the Outstanding Achievement Award at the 10th International Conference on Mobile Mapping Technology and the Purdue Seed Success Award. His extensive publication record includes articles in high-impact journals and significant contributions to various technical reports on the calibration of LiDAR systems and multi-sensor integration. He is actively involved in the academic community, contributing to both teaching and research.
