Biography

Ayse Kaslilar holds a BA, MSc, and PhD in Geophysical Engineering with a focus on seismics and seismology from Istanbul Technical University, Turkey. In 2018, she became a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Earth Sciences at Uppsala University. Previously, she was a full professor in the Department of Geophysical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University and has completed post-doctoral research in the Department of Geophysics at Freie Universität Berlin, as well as at the Delft Institute of Applied Mathematics at Delft University of Technology. She has been a principal investigator on national and international research projects, and in 2017, she served as an associate editor for the journals Geophysics (SEG) and Near Surface Geophysics (EAGE). Her research interests encompass seismic imaging and the characterization of subsurface structures using active and passive seismic methods, focusing on engineering crustal scale studies, including the imaging of near-surface scatterers through seismic interferometry and inverse scattering techniques. She is a member of EAGE, SEG, AGU, and EGU.
