Dr. Aysu Dincer Hadjianastasis

Biography

Aysu Dincer Hadjianastasis is an Associate Professor of Medieval History at the University of Warwick. With a robust academic background, she has been advancing her career in the field of Medieval Early Modern History since completing her PhD at the University of Birmingham. Her teaching spans various modules, including core subjects and advanced options, covering subjects such as Europe’s Medieval World and the complexities of the Crusader Kingdoms. Dincer has also been heavily involved in researching socio-economic history, with specific interests in the trade and use of aromatics in Late Medieval and Early Modern Europe, particularly in the Eastern Mediterranean. Her published articles address significant historical themes such as the accumulation of wealth in Fifteenth-century Cyprus and the societal roles of urban women during the late Medieval period. Dincer holds an MA in History from Bogazici University and a BA in Economics from the same institution, emphasizing her diverse educational background.
