Biography

Azad Madni is a University Professor in Astronautics and Aerospace Mechanical Engineering at the University of Southern California. He holds the Northrop Grumman Fred O'Green Chair in Engineering and serves as the Executive Director of USC’s Systems Architecting Engineering Program. His academic roles include joint appointments with the Sonny Astani Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, courtesy positions at the Rossier School of Education and Keck School of Medicine, and founding director of the Distributed Autonomy Intelligent Systems Laboratory. Madni has been recognized as a Senior Fellow at the Loker Hydrocarbon Research Institute and is a member of the London Digital Twin Research Centre. He is the founder and CEO of Intelligent Systems Technology, Inc., which focuses on model-based approaches to address significant societal challenges. With substantial experience as a Principal Investigator on over 97 R&D projects totaling $100 million, Madni's research interests encompass AI-Augmented Intelligence, Digital Twin Technology, and Model-Based Systems Engineering, among others.
