Dr. Azam Shamsi

Biography

Azam Shamsi Zamenjani is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of New Brunswick. He holds a PhD from McMaster University, where he specialized in Financial Econometrics and Empirical Finance. His research focuses on understanding the behavior of prices and expectations in financial markets through the application of financial theory and econometric techniques. The primary objective of his research is to determine the factors that influence security price movements, utilizing asset pricing, risk management, and portfolio selection techniques. In his role, Dr. Shamsi teaches courses related to financial data analysis and has contributed significantly to the Master of Quantitative Investment Management program, as well as to the MBA and BBA programs. His work has been published in reputable journals, including the Journal of Cleaner Production and the Journal of Empirical Finance, reflecting his expertise in financial variables and market behavior.
