Biography

B. Derrick Taff's research focuses on improving the understanding of communication strategies aimed at influencing human environmental health in protected areas. He has a background in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management, and is involved in both undergraduate and graduate programs. His interests include exploring how nature-based recreation and leisure engagement affect health, particularly among visitors to protected areas and military service member populations. He earned his Ph.D. in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources from Colorado State University in 2012 and a Master’s degree in American Studies from the University of Alabama in 2005.
