Professor Dr. Babukrishna Maniyadath

Biography

Babukrishna Maniyadath is a post-doctoral researcher in the Mandrup group focusing on the ATLAS project at the University of Southern Denmark. His research interests center around investigating adipose tissue plasticity and its implications in obesity development and regression. He specifically examines the impact of ectopic adipose depots on peripheral tissue metabolism and aims to enhance the understanding of clinical obesity relapse in humans. Babukrishna completed his PhD in Molecular Physiology, where he studied the oscillatory epigenomic mechanisms that mediate metabolic transitions at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology from the National Institute of Technology, Calicut, and a short-term postdoctoral fellowship in Chromatin and Gene Expression at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. His work involves key areas such as metabolism, regulatory RNA, and transcriptional control in obesity-associated diseases. Babukrishna actively participates in collaborative and innovative research, contributing to significant projects aimed at uncovering molecular mechanisms in vivo using advanced transcriptomics techniques.
