Dr. Balaji Prabhakar

Biography

Balaji Prabhakar is a Professor at Stanford University, holding the VMware Founders Professorship in the Department of Computer Science and also serving as a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering by courtesy. His research interests lie in the design, analysis, and implementation of data networks, including both wireline and wireless systems. Prabhakar focuses on developing network algorithms and solving problems related to ad hoc wireless networks, along with designing incentive mechanisms for network participation. He has a long-standing interest in stochastic network theory, information theory, and probability theory, all of which underpin his research in network design. Over the years, he has published numerous works that have contributed significantly to the field, showcasing his expertise in algorithm design and analysis within complex network systems.
