Biography

Balazs Feher is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. His clinical work focuses on dentoalveolar surgery and the perioperative supervision of surgical trainees. He actively researches the application of data science and artificial intelligence in dental medicine, specifically in the areas of diagnostic, prognostic, and generative modeling. Additionally, Feher conducts preclinical studies on oral tissue regeneration. He contributes to the ITU/WHO/WIPO Global Initiative on Artificial Intelligence in Health, particularly within the Topic Group for Dentistry, and has previously served in a similar capacity with the ITU/WHO Focus Group on Artificial Intelligence in Health. Currently, he is the chair-designate for the European Association for Osseointegration’s Junior Committee. Feher earned his DMD and PhD from the Medical University of Vienna, and completed his postgraduate training in oral surgery, during which he was habilitated, achieving the venia docendi in dental medicine. He joined Harvard as an Osteology Research Scholar, having completed a postdoctoral fellowship under Dean William V. Giannobile and with the participation of Dr. Magda Feres in the Faculty of Medicine.
