Dr. Bali Pulendran

Biography

Bali Pulendran is a Professor in the Department of Pathology at Stanford University and the Director of the Institute for Immunity, Transplantation and Infection. His research focuses on understanding the immune system, particularly how it responds to various diseases and infections. Pulendran’s work integrates basic immunology, transplantation biology, and infectious disease to inform the development of novel therapeutic strategies. He has made significant contributions to our understanding of innate immunity and the role of dendritic cells in T cell activation. His current interests also include the design of effective vaccines for infectious diseases and the exploration of the immune responses to these vaccines. Bali Pulendran is engaged in teaching and mentoring graduate students as well as postdoctoral fellows, demonstrating a commitment to training the next generation of scientists. He is involved in various academic appointments and provides guidance through doctoral dissertation processes. Over the years, he has published extensively, contributing valuable insights to medical science.
