Biography

Barbara Coulston is an adjunct clinical associate professor specializing in clinical pharmacy with a focus on primary care, chronic pain management, and diabetes. She maintains her clinical practice at the Centre for Family Medicine in Kitchener and serves as a Pharmacy Lead and Preceptor for fourth-year pharmacy clinical rotations at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto, and the School of Pharmacy, University of Waterloo. Additionally, she is the Residency Coordinator for the University of Waterloo-Centre Family Medicine Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency program. Barb is actively engaged in inter-professional education, teaching within the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University and the Kitchener-Waterloo area Family Medicine Residency program. She has been recognized for her contributions, receiving the Interprofessional Preceptor of the Year award and the School of Pharmacy Excellence in Pharmacy Teaching Award in 2020. Her research interests include chronic pain, diabetes, interprofessional education, and anticoagulation.
