Biography

Barb Sramek has dedicated 35 years to serving children in Wisconsin public schools, recognized as a passionate educator and a visionary leader. She began her career as an elementary education teacher in the Milwaukee Public Schools and later worked as a special education teacher at Lightfoot School in Sheboygan Falls, where she taught students with significant emotional and behavioral disorders in a self-contained setting. Dr. Sramek initiated an inclusive program for emotional behavior disorders at Kohler Public Schools during her nineteen years as a classroom teacher and teacher leader. After accepting the position of Director of Pupil Services and Special Education in the Marshall (WI) Schools, she concluded her career there, retiring as District Administrator and Director of Special Education. Beyond her service in public schools, Dr. Sramek has served as an adjunct faculty member and lecturer, leveraging her influence to inspire future educational leaders at various levels. Currently, she is a Clinical Professor in the Educational Leadership Policy Analysis Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and acts as the Director of Professional Development and Member Services for the Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators.
