Dr. Barbara Fasolo

Biography

Barbara Fasolo is an Associate Professor of Behavioural Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Her research is focused on understanding how people make decisions, especially in the presence of trade-offs, risk, and complexity. She explores choice architecture and develops methods to debias decision support. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals including the Annual Review of Psychology and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and has been featured in prominent media outlets such as the Harvard Business Review. Barbara's current research projects include studies on consumer welfare in online environments and field studies concerning the honesty of bankers and regulators. She has also been involved in the educational sector through randomized controlled trials in further education colleges. As a member of the Society of Judgment and Decision Making, she contributes to the understanding of judgement processes in complex scenarios. Barbara has previously been seconded to the European Medicines Agency and served as a Visiting Professor at IESE Business School, where she led initiatives in behavioural decision science.
