Dr. Barbara Fasolo

Biography

Barbara Fasolo is an Associate Professor in Behavioural Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She focuses on how individuals make decisions in the presence of trade-offs, risk, and complexity, often utilizing insights from behavioural decision science and decision analysis. Her research aims to understand the implications of decision-making processes on individual well-being and broader organizational contexts, including management and policy. Notable projects include investigating consumer welfare through online choices in hospitals and annuities, as well as field studies evaluating honesty among bankers and regulators. Throughout her career, Fasolo has been actively involved in research published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Annual Review of Psychology and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Additionally, she served on the Conference Programme Committee for the Society of Judgment and Decision Making and held a visiting professorship at IESE Business School. Her expertise encompasses decision processes, choice architecture, and debiasing techniques, contributing to enhancing decision-making in complex scenarios.
