Dr. Barbara Herman

Biography

Barbara Herman is the Griffin Professor of Philosophy at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her research interests lie primarily in moral philosophy, Kant's ethics, the history of ethics, and social political philosophy. Herman has an extensive academic background, having received her Ph.D. in Philosophy from Harvard University in 1976 and her M.A. and B.A. in History from Harvard University and Cornell University, respectively. As a prominent scholar in her field, she is recognized for her contributions to the understanding of ethical theories and their applications in social and political contexts.
