Biography

Barbara Krainovich-Miller, EdD, Professor Emerita at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing, has over 20 years of administrative experience at NYU Meyers. She has been a driving force behind initiatives that embed simulation into both BS and MS curricula, as well as interdisciplinary initiatives with NYU School of Medicine to integrate nursing and medical students through the C21 Curriculum Committee. Her contributions also include involvement in oral health initiatives across NYU's Schools of Medicine, Dental, and Nursing. With a notable track record in securing significant Advanced Nursing Education HRSA grants, she has enhanced the use of simulation in classrooms and worked towards increasing diversity among students in Nursing Education Psych Mental Health Nursing (PMH) MS programs. Inducted as a fellow of the Academy of Nursing, she is recognized as one of the inaugural inductees of NLN’s Academy of Nursing Education Fellows for her enduring contributions to nursing education. Her expertise spans competency-based education, evaluation, simulation, interprofessional education, and the influence on healthcare policies. In 2021, she was chosen by the Jonas Foundation as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for PMH mentoring doctoral scholars nationally. She holds an EdD in Nursing Education from Columbia University and is affiliated with several professional associations.
