Biography

Barbara Mink is a management communication professional with a focus on intercultural communication, leadership, and persuasion. She is a senior lecturer in management communication at the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University, where she teaches students to craft persuasive informational presentations that are clear, concise, and compelling. Barbara served as the news director for WHCU radio from 1978 to 1986 and taught radio journalism at Ithaca College and Cornell. Additionally, she has served for 12 years on the Tompkins County Legislature, including five years as chair. She is also the founder and director of the Light Winter Festival for Science and Arts, which took place from 1999 to 2011. Barbara has been a visiting lecturer on communication and leadership at ESCP Europe in Paris and at AVT Business School in Copenhagen. Outside of her academic pursuits, she is an active painter with an international presence.
