Biography

Barbara Piette is a Lecturer in Marketing at Boston University's Questrom School of Business where she teaches Leadership Communications and has developed a new MBA course titled Entrepreneur’s Communication Playbook: Persuading the Entrepreneurial Cycle. With over twenty years of experience in venture capital, Barbara is the Managing Principal at Knightsbridge Advisers, LLC. Her career began as a General Partner at Charles River Ventures and Schroder Ventures. In these roles, she co-led investments in premier venture capital funds focusing on finance, operations, marketing, and compliance. In addition to Knightsbridge, she serves on the Board of BankProv, a public commercial bank dedicated to serving small and medium enterprises and underserved markets, including crypto companies. Barbara is also a Board Member and Executive Committee Member of the Concussion Legacy Foundation, which aims to improve brain health and make sports safer. Her advisory roles extend to six emerging venture capital firms. She has held significant positions such as General Partner at Charles River Ventures, and has invested in numerous life sciences and technology companies. Furthermore, she previously worked as President of Blackwood Capital, managing investments in private and public companies. Barbara holds an MBA with honors from Harvard Business School and a BS summa cum laude from Boston College. She actively engages in philanthropy and is involved with various professional organizations, including the National Association of Corporate Directors and the Women Corporate Directors.
