Biography

Dr. Barbara Michelle Strong is a board-certified Obstetrician Gynecologist dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate, evidence-based medical care. Born and raised in inner city Oakland, California, she became acutely aware of the challenges faced by individuals in accessing medical services, especially reproductive health. This drove her to pursue a career in obstetrics and gynecology, where she aims to empower young women through knowledge and opportunities. Dr. Strong received her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and her medical degree from the Charles R. Drew/University of California at Los Angeles Medical Education Program, focusing on leadership in diverse communities. She completed her residency training at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital Integrated Residency Program. After graduation, she joined the faculty at Montefiore Medical Center, where she took a special interest in residency education and obstetric simulations. Currently, she serves as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology at Weill Cornell Medical College and is an Assistant Attending Obstetrician Gynecologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, specializing in a wide range of areas within obstetrics and gynecology, including comprehensive gynecologic care, gynecologic surgery, and preventative care.
