Dr. Triggs-Raine completed her BSc (Hons) in Microbiology in 1983 at the University of Manitoba. Fascinated by new tools for characterizing and manipulating DNA, she pursued a PhD in Microbiology at the University of Manitoba with an emphasis on molecular genetics, completing it in 1987. She transitioned to human genetics and undertook postdoctoral training at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and subsequently at the McGill University-Montreal Children’s Hospital Research Institute. In 1991, she returned to the University of Manitoba as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, which is now known as Biochemistry and Medical Genetics.
