Dr. Barbara Zemskova

Biography

Barbara Zemskova is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Waterloo. She completed her PhD at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to joining the University of Waterloo, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto and as a research associate at Oregon State University. Her research primarily focuses on the application of computational fluid dynamics and machine learning methods to study ocean circulation and climate. Specifically, she is interested in flow-topography interactions, internal waves, ocean turbulence, and ocean carbon storage, bringing together diverse concepts in her work.
