Biography

Barnaby Taylor is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Classics at the University of Oxford, where he also serves as a Fellow and Tutor at Exeter College. His academic journey includes distinguished roles as a departmental lecturer of Latin and a Junior Research Fellow at New College. Taylor studied at St Hugh's College and Brasenose College, Oxford, earning his DPhil. His primary research interests lie in philosophical texts written in Latin, focusing on notable authors such as Lucretius, Cicero, and Seneca. He delves into themes involving literary, linguistic, and philosophical perspectives within Latin literature, demonstrating a particular interest in Latin didactic poetry and the works of Lucretius and Avienius. His contributions to the field have been published in various academic texts, including 'Common Ground De Rerum Natura' and Language Nature in the Classical Roman World.
