Biography

Barrett Schreiner is an Associate Professor of Lawyering Skills and the Associate Director of the Academic Success Program at the USC Gould School of Law. He has a rich background in legal education, having previously served over five years at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law as an Assistant Professor and the Director of Academic Mastery. There, he taught various workshops including Academic Mastery and Advanced Litigation Writing, as well as courses in Advanced Legal Analysis and Civil Procedure. His experience also extends to practicing law for more than a decade, where he managed his own solo practice and worked at the Minneapolis-based law firm Nilan Johnson Lewis PA, and as a litigation associate at the Los Angeles office of Mayer Brown LLP. Additionally, Schreiner interned at the Environmental Law Foundation in Oakland, California, and the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, located in The Hague, Netherlands. He graduated from the UCLA School of Law, where he was the managing editor of the UCLA Law Review, and holds an MA in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary as well as a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
