Biography

Professor Bart Koopman graduated in mechanical engineering with a specialization in fluid dynamics and obtained his PhD at the end of 1989 from the University of Twente, Netherlands, focusing on biomechanics of movement. In 1990, he founded the Laboratory of Biomechanical Engineering and began working as a faculty member, tackling topics related to movement coordination. Professor Koopman has supervised over 300 higher-degree research students in Biomedical Engineering, demonstrating his commitment to education and research in the field.
