Biography

Bart Smolders is a Full Professor and the Chair of the Electromagnetics (EM) group in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). He leads the Future Chips Flagship at TU/e and has key expertise in antenna systems and microwave engineering. Smolders' primary research focus is on advanced integrated antenna systems for applications such as phased arrays and focal-plane arrays, targeting future wireless communications, including 6G technologies. Smolders has held various positions throughout his career, including roles at FEL-TNO, Thales, and NXP Semiconductors, providing him with a strong industry and academic background in electrical engineering.
