Biography

Bart Gorgoglione is currently an Assistant Professor in the Aquatic Animal Health Laboratory at Michigan State University, holding a joint appointment in the Departments of Pathobiology Diagnostic Investigation within the College of Veterinary Medicine and Fisheries and Wildlife at the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. His research is focused on fish virology and parasitology, particularly in relation to polymicrobial infections affecting both wild and farmed fish species. In addition, Gorgoglione serves as the President of the World Aquatic Veterinary Medical Association and chairs the WAVMA Education Student Committee. His teaching responsibilities include the Aquatic Animal Medicine Clerkship (PDI 636). Bart earned a PhD from the Scottish Fish Immunology Centre at the University of Aberdeen in 2014, a Master of Science from the Institute of Aquaculture at the University of Stirling in 2009, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Bari in Italy in 2008.
