Beatrice Alex is a Senior Lecturer and Chancellor's Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, focusing on text mining and natural language processing. Alex has co-chaired significant conferences in healthcare text analytics and serves as an editor for the Journal Open Humanities Data. In addition, she co-organizes workshops and is part of various research committees related to data science in the humanities.
