Biography

Beatrice Wyss has a robust academic background with a Doctorate in Greek Philology from the University of Fribourg, obtained in 2008. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Classical Philology from Bern (2001) and has pursued studies in philosophy, classical philology, and theology. Wyss has participated in multiple projects funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the German Research Foundation (DFG), focusing on religious philosophy during the imperial era, especially on the works of Philo of Alexandria. Since October 2022, she has been an Assistant Professor teaching New Testament Greek, and her contributions encompass text editions in Basel, Bern, Fribourg, and Göttingen. Her research interests include Ancient Greek literature and the reception of the Academy's works from the second century AD.
