Biography

Beatriz Manzor is an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. She conducts quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods health services research focused on underserved communities. Using a community-engaged research approach, she works to identify and address barriers to evidence-based care, with the aim of improving clinical outcomes for individuals with type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and depression. Dr. Manzor is a strong advocate for access to easily understandable medication information throughout the continuum of care. She is actively involved in several national associations, including the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), National Hispanic Pharmacists Association (NHPA), National Pharmaceutical Association (NPhA), American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP). In addition to her professional affiliations, she is a member of university organizations such as the Eisenberg Family Depression Center, Michigan Institute for Clinical & Health Research (MICHR), and the Institute for Healthcare Policy Innovation (IHPI). Dr. Manzor has also served as an abstract and grant reviewer, mentor, and invited expert presenter. Furthermore, she is the faculty advisor for the Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA). Dr. Manzor has received several grants to support her valuable research, including the Eisenberg Family Depression Center Collaborative Innovations Award (2018), MICHR J (pre-K) Award (2018), MICHR KL2 Award (2019), AACP New Investigator Award (2022), and the MICHR Promoting Academics for Community Engagement (PACE) Dissemination Grant (2025).
