Dr. Bee Hughes

Biography

Bee Hughes is a Senior Lecturer in Education at the University of Manchester, where she engages in research focused on educational leadership, school structures, and critical policy studies. Her investigative interests include network ethnography examining the interplay of agency and power structures in educational contexts, specifically within multi-academy trusts. Hughes adopts an ethnographic approach in her work, which involves observation, shadowing, and interviewing to gain insights into leadership practices and educational policy. Her contributions to the field are bolstered by her role as Deputy Programme Director for the Blended Masters programme in Educational Leadership Practice and her involvement in critical educational leadership and policy research groups.
