Biography

Behrokh “Berok” Khoshnevis is the Louise L. Dunn Distinguished Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering. His active research includes innovative robotics and mechatronics for construction, specifically through the development of Additive Manufacturing processes such as Contour Crafting. This technology, recognized globally, has been applied in various fields including biomedical applications and autonomous robotic systems for construction on Earth and in space. Dr. Khoshnevis holds over 100 international patents and has authored 200 refereed publications. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and has received numerous accolades including the Grand Prize for Contour Crafting at NASA's Create the Future contest and recognition as one of the top 10 academic pioneers of the Internet of Things by Connected World magazine. In addition to his research, he teaches graduate courses on Invention Technology Development at USC and is known for his engaging lectures and keynote speeches.
