Dr. Beibei Li

Biography

Beibei Li holds the Anna Loomis McCandless Chair at the Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. She also has a joint appointment at the Tepper School of Business and a courtesy appointment at the School of Computer Science within the Human-Computer Interaction Institute. Beibei received her Ph.D. with distinction from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University. Her research interests focus on the intersection of social and technical aspects of technology, particularly how human interactions with recent technological disruptions can inform decision-making processes. She specializes in studying digital footprints and the interplay between individual behavior in digital and physical environments. Through interdisciplinary methods incorporating econometrics, structural modeling, Bayesian modeling, and machine learning, Beibei aims to design effective strategies that empower policymakers to enhance technological designs for better economic welfare. Beibei has published extensively in premier journals and conferences, receiving multiple prestigious awards, including the INFORMS ISS Sandy Slaughter Early Career Award in 2019. She has garnered significant research funding and recognition for her contributions to the field.
