Biography

Belinda Durey is a Lecturer in Exercise Physiology at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). She holds a Master of Exercise Science (Clinical Exercise Physiology) from the University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement Health Studies) from the University of South Australia. Belinda is an accredited Exercise Physiologist and Exercise Scientist with a specialization in cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET). Her current research focuses on optimizing patient health through exercise in the context of major elective surgeries. Belinda is also involved in an honorary role at University College London Hospital (UCLH) as the principal investigator for the BARI-Prehab randomized controlled trial (RCT), which investigates the impact of telehealth prehabilitation programs for patients awaiting bariatric surgery in London hospitals including UCLH, Whittington Health NHS Trust, and Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. She is currently pursuing a PhD in related areas of study.
