Bella B. Jordan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Texas at Austin. Raised in a multicultural and multilingual environment in Sakha (Yakutia), she developed an interest in diverse cultures and traditions from an early age. She earned her Bachelor's degree in English Philology from Yakutsk State University in 1986, followed by studies in Linguistics and Text Stylistics at the Moscow Institute of Foreign Languages. In 1995, Bella began her Master's program at the University of Texas at Austin and obtained her PhD in 2002, focusing on the ethnogenesis of the Sakha (Yakut) people and their homeland creation in the 14th century. Currently, she teaches a variety of courses related to geography, Soviet studies, and Eastern European cultures.
