Biography

Ben Lacey is an Associate Professor in the Medical Sciences Division at the University of Oxford, focusing on population health metrics and health inequalities. He has expertise in enhancing large-scale observational epidemiology, particularly through the use of linked administrative records. Lacey studied Medicine at the University of Edinburgh and qualified in 2004. Following several years of clinical work, he undertook specialty training in Public Health Medicine and received a master’s degree in Global Health Science, as well as a doctorate in Epidemiology from the University of Oxford. Since joining Oxford Population Health in 2015, Lacey has also served as an Honorary Consultant Physician in Public Health at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health of the Royal Colleges of Physicians.
