Ben Morgan is a Senior Research Fellow in the Elementary Particle Physics group at the University of Warwick, specializing in computational methods and software development to support the group's research program. His primary project focuses on developing detector simulation codes that efficiently utilize modern computing architectures, such as General-Purpose Graphics Processing Units (GPGPUs), as part of the UK's ExCALIBUR program. He collaborates with researchers at CERN, contributing to the ATLAS Detector Development programs, where he optimizes simulation performance using the Geant4 toolkit and the Athena software. His key projects include leading the Software Management group for the SuperNEMO Double Beta Decay Search Experiment and contributing to LEGEND's background modeling efforts. Ben has a doctorate in direct searches for dark matter and has published several papers on the phenomenology of detectors and directional sensitivity. He is also involved in the HEP Software Foundation, co-convening workshops and working groups focused on software computing in high-energy physics. In addition to research, he has contributed to teaching a graduate course in Linux and C++ programming at the Midlands Physics Alliance Graduate School, aimed at improving resources and training in software development for physicists.
Includes General, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Biomedical, and Manufacturing Engineering. Most programs fall under English Band A.
