Biography

Ben Noble completed his doctorate at the University of Oxford in 2016, where his dissertation focused on politics and lawmaking in contemporary Russia. He was awarded the Walter Bagehot Prize by the Political Studies Association. From 2015 to 2017, he held a Junior Research Fellowship at New College, Oxford, and subsequently worked as a Senior Researcher at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow from 2017 to 2021. In 2020, he became an Associate Fellow at Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs. He has served as the SSEES Careers Liaison Tutor, the SSEES Policy Champion, and has been involved in various seminar series. Noble is frequently called upon for media commentary on contemporary Russian domestic politics and has published in numerous outlets, including Newsweek, The Telegraph, and The Washington Post. His academic credentials include an undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, an MPhil in Russian and East European Studies, and a DPhil in Politics, all from the University of Oxford.
