Biography

Ben's PhD explored inequalities in the digital creative industries across the life course, focusing on workers in Film, TV, Games, and Websites. He studied how these individuals renegotiated their creative careers while facing various life course transitions and enduring challenges such as childcare, mental and physical health, and the aging process. His research highlights the endemic structural challenges faced by professionals in these fields. Prior to his academic career, Ben worked as a music teacher for a decade. He holds an MSc in Social Research Methods from the University of Southampton and an MSc in Global Development Management from the Open University.
