Biography

Ben Walsh is a librarian at the University of Toronto’s St. George Campus, where he supports students and faculty in the Department of English and at the Centre for Drama, Theatre, and Performance Studies. He has experience as a collections librarian with expertise in purchasing new books and resources for the library. His prior roles at the University of Toronto included librarian for psychology and librarian for aerospace studies. In 2019, Ben served as an instructor in graduate studies in the Faculty of Information. Before joining the University of Toronto, he was a co-owner of Glad Day, the oldest queer bookstore in the world, and led literary tours specializing in India and Nepal, while also selling books in various independent stores. Ben has acted with a company at the Stratford Festival and holds degrees in theatre performance from Humber College, English theatre studies from the University of Guelph, and library information science from the University of Toronto.
