Biography

Ben Weinkove received his PhD from Columbia University in 2004 and has since held various academic positions. He joined Northwestern University in 2013 after serving as Benjamin Peirce Assistant Professor at Harvard University and as a Royal Society Research Assistant at Imperial College London. Previously, he was a faculty member at the University of California, San Diego. Weinkove has served as Chair of the Mathematics Department at Northwestern from 2021 to 2024, and in 2024 he will be named the Madan Lal Puri Professor of Mathematics. His primary research focuses on elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations, as well as geometric analysis and complex geometry. He received the Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship in 2008 and was elected as a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society in 2017.
