Dr. Benjamin Bolker

Biography

Benjamin Bolker is a professor in the departments of Mathematics & Statistics and Biology at McMaster University. His research interests encompass a broad range of topics including spatial, theoretical, mathematical, computational statistical ecology, evolution, and epidemiology. He contributes to the understanding of plant community dynamics, ecosystems, and epidemic dynamics, often opting for research themes that capture his interest. He leads the mac-theobio research group in collaboration with colleagues Jonathan Dushoff and David Earn. Bolker also serves as the Director of the School of Computational Science and Engineering and is the Associate Chair for Graduate Studies in the Department of Mathematics. His work includes published books and resources dedicated to ecological modeling, statistical computing, and the use of R in data analysis. He maintains a reputable profile through various platforms, sharing knowledge and resources with the academic community.
