I am a researcher and educator trained in public health and environmental studies. My research focuses on understanding and reducing health inequalities arising from global social and environmental structures, in partnership with affected communities. My current areas of interest include the impacts of the banana agro-industry on occupational health and the environment, as well as the health impacts of resource extraction. I also study the social production of knowledge in public health and the influences of corporations on health and health research. I utilize mixed methods including ethnography, discourse analysis, knowledge synthesis, and participatory approaches.
