Dr. Benjamin Brush

Biography

Benjamin Brush, MD is a Neuro-Critical Care specialist at NYU Langone Health, dedicated to providing comprehensive care to patients during vulnerable moments. With a focus on treating critical neurologic conditions such as large strokes, brain bleeds, persistent seizures, spinal cord injuries, and severe autoimmune conditions, he leads a comprehensive team in the NYU Langone Neurocritical Care Unit. His expertise also extends to providing care for patients recovering from significant neurosurgeries. Dr. Brush is actively involved in research aimed at advancing the field of neurocritical care, including studying brain circuits that control breathing, developing brain-machine interfaces for paralyzed patients, and conducting spinal cord injury research. Currently, he is leveraging breakthroughs in large language models to develop predictive algorithms that optimize care for patients with severe strokes. In addition to his clinical role, he serves as an Assistant Professor at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, where he teaches neurology to medical students and residents and takes pride in mentoring future physicians. His profound commitment to patient care and medical education is inspired by the desire to make a significant impact on the lives of patients with neurologic challenges.
