Biography

Benjamin Collins is an Honorary Research Associate at the University of British Columbia with a focus on archaeology. He holds a PhD from McGill University (2014), an MA from the University of Alberta (2009), and a BA from the University of Manitoba (2007). His research primarily involves zooarchaeology, cultural resource management, and social networks, specifically examining past foraging peoples and their adaptations to rapid climate change. Currently, he is based in Victoria, working as a CRM archaeologist with WSP Canada Inc., and is collaborating with colleagues from UBC and the University of Manitoba on a stable isotope research project. His teaching is informed by these research interests, focusing on the connections between humans and their environments during periods of transition.
