Benjamin Hunter joined the School of Social & Political Sciences in 2023, based on the formed subject group, International Political Economy & Development. Prior to joining Glasgow, he was a Lecturer in International Development at the University of Sussex and held positions as a Research and Teaching Fellow in the King's College London Department of International Development. He has experience working on research projects in India, China, and the UK, collaborating with multilateral organizations such as the World Health Organization, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and Oxfam. He is a lead of the 'Unsettling Healthcare' initiative and a member of the Collective on Political Determinants of Health. Benjamin's academic qualifications include degrees from the University of Cambridge, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and King's College London, and he has been awarded research grants from the UK Economic and Social Research Council and the Wellcome Trust.
