Biography

Benjamin J. Keys is the Rowan Family Foundation Professor and a Professor of Finance at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on household finance, mortgage finance, real estate, applied econometrics, and urban economics. He serves as a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research and is an associate editor for the Review of Financial Studies and Management Science. Additionally, he is a member of the Academic Research Council at the Urban Institute’s Housing Finance Policy Center and a fellow at the Center for Financial Security at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to joining the Wharton School, Keys was an assistant professor at the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy and worked as an economist in the Division of Research and Statistics at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. He holds a BA from Swarthmore College, an MA, and a PhD from the University of Michigan.
